Installation
Caution! The installation is carried out on your own risk
If you have downloaded the iso file and have burned on a CD in the DAO mode (disk At Once) with the slowest speed (after possibility < 10 x), you are more important, (than, if you have Windows on the hard disk of your computer, should you defragment the windowspartition and safeguard important data before (if something goes wrong at e.g. power failure or inadvertent wrong partionation):
1. Inserting Linux CD, adjusting the CD drive at the computer in the BIOS as the first Bootdisk
2. let start the CD
3. click on console symbol (below in the toolbar the little black screen) start and enter the following orders in lines.
sudo sux
install-gui.bash
4. Now the sidux-installer starts, case the hard disk must still not happen get an area for linux, call the partitioning tool in the sidux-installer
5. You get more indications for the partitioning and for the further installation in the sidux manual
6. The further installation is largely self-explanatory with the installation program
if the install should be done for an usb-stick or sd-card in boot-live-mode-iso then do:
sudo sux
install-usb-gui.bash
The special Eee-things are not possible with live-mode!
extended options. Now new!
After the hard disk installation you can do:
sux
eee_config
This script installs a new kernel, which is prepared especially for the Asus-Eee 701/900 of vedawalter (http://walter.flightshop.de for the Eee 901/1000 the script installs a nessesary wlan-modul
sux
start_slim
changes the displaymanager gdm with the lighter displaymanager slim
